While legislation remains at the center of our mission, AIA Missouri has embarked upon a number of other initiatives to the benefit of the state. Most notable of past initiatives are a pair of charrettes that examined the futures of two state owned historic properties.
In 1995, a weekend long charrette explored options and alternatives offering new uses and a brighter future for the State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Missouri. That effort was followed by a similar charrette in 2000 for the State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, Missouri, which studied the reuse of this historic facility which would soon close as a jail and become surplus property of the state.
Currently AIA Missouri is examining the currency of our states regulations with regard for the Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) protections afforded the public. As we continue this effort, more information will become available through this web.
We are always interested to explore new opportunities where design professionals and resources from across the state might benefit an issue of state wide importance. If you have an issue or know of one, please do not hesitate to contact us.
