AIA Missouri Board Meeting Retreat
10/1/2010
The Resort & Yacht Club, Lake Ozark
| The primary activity of AIA Missouri is to keep track of issues in the Missouri Legislature that will have an effect on the practice of our profession. To that end, the AIA Missouri Board meets in Jefferson City several times during the legislative session in order to discuss the issues that have arisen and to speak with legislators about our position on those issues. The issues included here are those that we are watching this year.

Life Safety Initiative
| AIA Missouri has long advocated improving the circumstances for many portions of the state that do not benefit from the adoption of model building codes. Recent events related to Nursing Homes provided for specialized criteria for safety in these facilities; however, AIA Missouri believes that adoption of statewide codes would be both more practical and safer in the end. |
